Rolling
Construction steel

It is among the strongest structural sheets available on the market, with a very high yield load and consistent characteristics. Combined with its ease of processing and the rolling of construction steel, it allows for a reduction in the typically used thicknesses without compromising structural strength.

S235 – S275 – S355 – S460 are just a few of the rolled construction steels offered by Sidertaglio Calandratura. The rollable thickness for this type of material ranges from 8 to 160mm. This range may vary depending on multiple structural and production factors.

Our idea of welding

Controls and accuracy.

At Sidertaglio Calendering when we talk about welding we mean a SAW submerged arc process, longitudinal or circumferential, which we can perform on all major construction materials or for pressure vessels. Each calendered tube undergoes nondestructive testing and meets ASME, AFNOR, EN, DIN, AWS, and AD standards.

Certification

It is important for us to deliver safe and guaranteed work. Believing in this, we have obtained ISO 3834-2:2005 certifications and ASME MARK PRT Sez. I and VIII Div.1, which attest to the quality of our products. The individuals working with us are well-prepared to adhere to and comply with ASME, AFNOR, EN, DIN, AWS, AD and AD2000. regulations. We collaborate with various sectors, from mechanical to naval, from petrochemical to mining, which are subject to inspections and verifications by organizations such as I.I.S. – Ri.Na. – Lloyd’s Register.

Diagnostics

With high precision. Thanks to advanced inspection tools, we ensure a product of the highest quality and safety. Each welded tube can undergo non-destructive testing, including X-ray Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Mechanized Ultrasonic Testing (UT TofD), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT). This allows us to maintain high-quality standards and provide a safe product with targeted inspections.

Low-alloy steel2026-06-18T13:17:24+02:00

Low-alloy steel contains small percentages of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel. It withstands high temperatures, operating pressure, and corrosive environments at a lower cost than high-alloy steels. We roll it to a thickness of up to 220 mm, with certification to ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2 for pressure vessels and AD 2000. This is the alloy required for projects in the petrochemical, oil & gas, and power generation sectors, where operating conditions preclude the use of standard carbon steel.

High-yield-strength steel2026-06-18T13:00:49+02:00

High-yield steel can withstand high loads for a given thickness. It allows for lighter structures without sacrificing strength, and is required where every kilogram counts. We cold-roll it up to 220 mm in accordance with EN 1090-1 EXC3 certification for load-bearing structures. This alloy is used in offshore projects, onshore wind farms, and renewable energy installations, where reducing weight while maintaining performance cuts transportation and installation costs.

Wear-resistant steel2026-06-18T12:31:36+02:00

Wear-resistant steel has high surface hardness, achieved through specific alloys and heat treatments. It withstands abrasion, impact and prolonged friction. We roll it up to 100mm, working Hardox grades in 400, 450 and 500 HB hardness. It is the work required for crushing plants, bulk material handling and components exposed to constant stress, where the quality of welding determines the working life of the finished part.

Boiler plate steel2026-06-18T13:13:40+02:00

Boiler steel is used in the construction of pressure vessels and steam generators, where leak-tightness and resistance to high temperatures are essential requirements. We roll it to a thickness of 220 mm, with ASME Section I certification for boilers and ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2 certification for pressure vessels. This is the kind of manufacturing sought after by the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Power Generation industries, where documentation is just as important as the manufacturing process itself.

Stainless steel2026-06-18T12:54:38+02:00

Stainless steel resists corrosion thanks to chromium, which forms a passive layer on its surface. It is the material of choice when water, chemicals, or harsh environments make carbon steel unsuitable. We roll it on two dedicated lines: from 3 to 50 mm in the white zone without carbon contamination, and from 50 to 160 mm in the heavy-gauge section. We work with AISI 304, 316, 321, Duplex, and Superduplex, with ASME and ISO 3834-2 certification.
